A long long time ago, in this galaxy I used to have a personal blog (ogrebear.com) which was mostly just for gaming it was a nice hobby. Now that it is 2020 i would like to start blogging again but this time mostly about Python and the various programing project i want to play around with for fun. So i’ve started this blog specifically for this.
This blog will end up being mostly just python project that i want to try just off the top of the my head a few of the one i want to play around with over the next few months
- A Slack Karma Bot: At work i am the Admin of our Slack Instance and for the most part haven’t really played around with App. I think this is a easy project for me to work on to understand slack API and how to make a slack bot.
- A World Of Warcraft Mythic Dungeon website/app: I play World of Warcraft, and Blizzard has a wealth of information in their API that sites like Raider.io to show information on mythic dungeons in WOW. One thing i would love to see is how the average score changes over time and where the average % of the player base is based off the top. So i’ll be trying to do this in a project
- Mapping location data every site has on you: Facebook, google, Swarm, Every image you take, records your location. I think it would be interesting to take all my location information and first just place it on a map so i can see it, but then also what data can we gather from it.
- Find the cheapest time to go to Vegas: I used to have an app that would do that here. But MGM has made some changes to their website and so my web scraper i made no longer works
- Find the Cheapest Cruise with airfare: I like to go on Cruise, but there isn’t a good website at the moment that will tell you, this cruise + this flight will be cheaper. For instance if you want to go to X, Y, Z, list all the cruise, with flight information so you can pick the cheapest.
